Almost 4 months ago, Australia banned social media for youth under 16 years of age. It was a landmark ban that sparked an important global discussion about the impact of these platforms, and how they can harm the mental health and safety of young people. One example was a recent landmark court case in California, where Meta and YouTube were both found liable in a social media addiction trial. Kristy Cameron chats with Shachi Kurl, the President of the Angus Reid Institute, on today’s Ottawa Now.
