In the days that have followed this Canada Day disaster, several local councillors and MPPs have penned an open letter to Queen’s Park, calling on the Ford government to make disaster relief funding available for residents. Mayor Mark Sutcliffe says the City of Ottawa will fully investigate what led to this wave of mass flooding, and analyze what can be done to prevent future waves from escalating.
