On Wednesday, Ottawa’s top doctor Vera Etches said overdose deaths in the city have doubled from 25 in 2019 to 123 in 2020. Rob Boyd, the Oasis Program Director at the Sandy Hill Community Health Centre, says they’ve seen a significant increase in overdoses. He says the demand for services at the supervised consumption site is so high that they are struggling to keep up. He joins Kristy Cameron on Ottawa Now to explain what is driving the increase.
