An Ottawa-based organization is working to support people with disabilities, while also preserving a part of Canada’s history at the same time. Its secret weapon happens to be the former copper roof that once protected the Centre Block of Parliament Hill, which was put to use from 1917 to 1997. ‘Under One Roof’, led by John Lonergan, has been making maple leaf pins and brooches out of this ancient material. He joins Kristy Cameron on today’s Ottawa Now.
