Several municipalities, including ours, have voiced their disapproval to Ontario Premier Doug Ford and his idea to ban speed cameras. Last week, despite the pushback, those pleas fell on deaf ears. The Ford government has officially passed legislation that bans the usage of speed cameras across the province. One of the most successful camera zones in Canada’s Capital resides in Rideau-Vanier, located on King Edward between Bolton and St. Patrick. Between January and May of this year, that camera alone issued 15,766 tickets. Rideau-Vanier councillor Stephanie Plante joins Kristy Cameron to explain how these changes could impact her neighbourhoods.
