Hockey Night In Canada on free TV has been a longtime staple of our weekend routine. However, as of Saturday, the gameplan to watch your favourite Saturday night contest has drastically changed. Following Rogers’ massive new multi-billion dollar broadcast contract with the NHL, many prominent matchups have been moved exclusively behind paid streaming walls, such as Amazon Prime. One example is Wednesday night's primetime broadcast – and one of the earliest versions will be Brady Tkachuk's return to Ottawa. Even more concerning for today’s fans is what will happen when the Spring arrives, as the Stanley Cup Finals will not be available on free-to-air television anywhere in Canada.
