We have breaking news that Deputy Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland will become Canada’s next Finance Minister replacing Bill Morneau.

Bill Morneau has resigned as the federal minister of finance and will no longer sit as an MP in the House of Commons.  Morneau made the announcement after meeting with the prime minister today.
