It comes after a series of incidents over the past 2 weeks, including a pair of assaults in the area of Cumberland Street and George Street last weekend. A batch of new Trump tariffs are slated to hit Canada within the next 30 days, and some of Canada’s CUSMA-protected exports will be feeling the pain this time. How significant, you may ask? How about a 50% tax? Once again, meeting with the media today, America’s President said that Canada can’t survive without the United States. So how should Canada respond this time? Kristy Cameron sifts through the CFRA textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Meantime, it’s been 20 days since a massive downpour destroyed thousands of basements and properties in Canada’s Capital. The Ford government has rolled out DRAO funding for some of the affected areas, but some of the hardest-hit communities are still scrambling for help. We check in with Jennifer Johnston, who lives in Crystal Beach. She is currently ineligible for DRAO funding, and she doesn’t have any insurance or flood coverage.

A new survey shows that 8-in-10 Canadians feel their vehicles are vulnerable to theft, despite a recent drop in car thefts nationwide. Data from Angus Reid and Équité Association reveals that, while thefts did decrease in 2025, thieves are using advanced technology to bypass standard security systems. One of those tools is a ‘key fob relay attack’. And despite the aforementioned decline in thefts, over 33% of the 47,000 vehicles that were stolen in 2025 have yet to be returned to their registered owners. Experts say that a takedown in modern organized crime requires high-tech prevention, and most Canadians are calling on the feds to mandate stronger anti-theft technology in all new vehicles. Lorraine Sommerfeld, a Driving.ca columnist, joins Kristy Cameron in Hour 2. Meantime, making new friends as an adult is way tougher than making friends as a little kid. Keeping these friendships, as an adult, is even tougher. So on today’s edition of Self-Help Tuesday with psychotherapist Benslyne Avril, we are looking at why adult friendships fade, how you can actually save them, and how you can make some new ones.
