The Ottawa Catholic School Board announced cuts to the specialized bus attendant position. The cuts are impacting over 30 to 50 staff which will affect approximately 100 students who suffer from medical conditions. Many of the children are non verbal, wheelchair bound or require complex five point safety harnesses. Jennifer Bloom has been working as a specialized bus attendant for over 20 years and says this is a critical safety crisis for these children.
