In 2014 a series of unfortunate events, including multiple military sexual traumas and the death of her younger brother to suicide, led Retired Captain Jill McLellan to reach out for help. Having been a military member, she had seen first-hand how service dogs can save people and began to look into enrolling her dog, Max, for training. After many hopeless emails, long waitlists and a very high price-tag, she was losing hope. Then she found a dog trainer named Tina Parker McNish. They agreed that the $30,000 price tag to train your dog was too high, they vowed to make it affordable to those who needed it most and created Watch My 6 Service Dogs. This for-social-profit can help improve and save the lives of so many more veterans. Here’s Jill’s conversation with Dahlia Kurtz on The Goods.
