Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Wed. November 19th, 2025

View descriptionShare

In collaboration with Dalhousie University, a food waste reduction app is pointing to Gen-Z’s knowledge of best-before dates. And it finds that knowledge isn’t very vast. According to this new data, about 40 percent of Gen-Z Canadians don’t know the exact meaning of the term, with 25 percent of Gen-Z Canadians tossing out food that is technically safe to eat. That amounts to $329 of annual food waste per household. How closely do you follow these dates? Kristy Cameron sifts through the CFRA textboard and tackles today’s Question of the Day. Plus, Manotick-based Millers Farm has received a re-zoning denial for a planned vehicle storage expansion. And now, the farm’s future looks a bit cloudy. CTV’s Leah Larocque delivers the details in Hour 3.
