Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Wed. May 7th, 2025

View descriptionShare

Homelessness advocates are speaking out against a pair of bills that are being pushed by the Ontario government. Bill 6 and Bill 10 are currently on their Second Reading in the Ontario Legislation. Critics argue that, if these bills are passed, homelessness would be essentially criminalized. Kristy Cameron digs deeper with Katie Burkholder-Harris, the Executive Director of the Alliance To End Homelessness. But first, we sift through the CFRA textboard and tackle today’s Question of the Day. If you’re dining out in Quebec, tips must be calculated using the before-tax price, starting today. For example, if an item costs $100 before tax, the tipping options cannot be calculated on the additional taxes, such as the 9.9% QST or the 5% GST. These rules haven’t changed in Ontario. Should they? Text into the show and let us know!
