Back in April, the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board was mulling over potential curriculum changes. At first, it appeared that early French Immersion courses could be on the way out. Today, the idea of axing English instructions for Ottawa-based students is being tossed around. According to the OCDSB, this review was being done to determine whether the current program models were still serving the needs of students, as well as the community-at-large. Should our city’s largest school board transition to a more ’unified’ program, where a high level of French learning is emphasized?
