Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Tues. April 2nd, 2024

View descriptionShare

As of September 2024, Ontario’s high school students will have to take a course on Technology and the Skilled Trades. It’s required for Grade 9 students, as well as Grade 10 pupils, in order to graduate. But as the Ford government deals with an ongoing tech teacher shortage, it appears likely that the teachers who are assigned these courses won’t even have the credentials to teach these modules. Does this plan make sense to you? Kristy Cameron tackles today’s Question of the Day. Plus, Canada’s Prime Minister is finally delivering on a campaign promise, which was declared in 2021 when the Liberals got re-elected. Our country is receiving a long-overdue national school food program, coming in at a cost of $1 billion. What does it accomplish, and what still needs to be done? That’s coming up in Hour 3.
