Hour 3 of Ottawa Now for Fri. August 29th, 2025

View descriptionShare

Parents at Louise Arbour Elementary on Beech Street, which is operated by a French public school board, are voicing concerns about portables and porta-potties. The school has already installed seven classroom portables. But ahead of the upcoming learning season, they have added an eighth one, along with a pair of porta-potties. The latter addition has got people talking. Are washroom trailers an acceptable solution at schools, especially for Elementary levels of learning? Kristy Cameron does a vibe check of the CFRA textboard, as she tackles today’s Question of the Day. Meantime, the Barrhaven Food Cupboard is reeling after batches of food went missing from its community garden. According to Matt Triemstra, the Director of Communications for the community lifeline, the first theft unfolded on August 11th. Then, 17 days later, they were hit again. Triemstra pays us a visit in Hour 3.
