Ottawa city councillors have finalized next year's Municipal Budget. It includes a 3.9 percent increase to our city’s property taxes, costing the average homeowner an extra $168,000 in 2025. Councillors also approved a 5 percent increase to OC Transpo fares, as they stare down the barrel of a $120 million transit deficit. And with transit tardiness top of mind, River Ward councillor Riley Brockington spoke his mind during Wednesday’s budget debriefing. He joins Andrew Pinsent in Hour 3. We also get a broader reaction to next year’s plans with Beacon Hill-Cyrville councillor Tim Tierney and small business advocate Michael Wood.
