The Bank of Canada has decided to cut interest rates for a fifth consecutive time, as the country’s economy grows at a slower rate than first projected. Angelo Melino, a University of Toronto professor who studies interest rates and inflation, delivers his two cents on today’s decision. Speaking of money, city councillors are gathering at City Hall this afternoon to vote on the 2025 Budget. We get the latest developments from CFRA’s Andrew Pinsent. Plus, we continue to spread some Christmas cheer, or at least some gift-giving suggestions, with the handy-dandy Ottawa Now Gift Guide. Joining the show with his list is CFRA Live show producer Mitch Kedrosky.
