Ottawa Mayor Mark Sutcliffe is pledging to end youth homelessness in Canada’s Capital. He made the announcement earlier today at Ottawa City Hall, targeting 2030 as the original endgame. The municipality has already invested $82 million in affordable housing since 2022 and is on track to surpass $100 million in this term of council. Sutcliffe says the 2026 City Budget, which is currently set for release in November, will feature several measures and investments to push this vision in the right direction. Meantime, Day 2 of Parliament’s Fall Session featured the resignation of Chrystia Freeland as Canada’s Transport Minister, triggering a few tweaks to Carney’s Cabinet.
