Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Thurs. June 1st, 2023

View descriptionShare

A new report says that women are 20 to 70 percent more likely to experience post-stroke depression compared to men. Their odds of post-stroke anxiety are also higher compared to men. It makes it even tougher when they are not getting the support they urgently need. Ottawa resident Janet Millen joins Andrew Pinsent and shares her personal journey. In 2006, at the age of 58, she suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. Since then, she has battled through spells of isolation and depression. In other health news, a new study shows that a looming medication shortage is leading to increased cases of dosing errors, putting Canada’s youngest citizens at risk. That’s coming up in Hour 2.
