Florida is looking at ditching property taxes – and getting Canadians to pony up for the bill. Republican Governor Ron DeSantis has railed against property taxes, so he’s pushing Amendment 3. If it gets the green light, homeowners would see a dramatic reduction in property taxes. Any Floridian with a primary residence valued at $250,000 USD or less would pay nothing. Those who own properties worth more than that would pay much less. And in a move that would cost the Florida government more money, they plan to make up for it by tapping into Canadian Snowbirds and taxing them more.
