Hour 2 of Ottawa Now for Mon. November 18th, 2024

View descriptionShare

The federal government has awarded a private company $13.8 million to create co-working spaces for public servants in the National Capital Region. The first batch of spaces are scheduled to open in Gatineau next month. However, these workspaces are only for public servants who work at Public Services and Procurement Canada, who can only use it on their ‘flex’ day. We deliver the details in Hour 2. Meantime, new data shows that home construction in Canada’s Capital is down 14 percent in 2024. We dig deeper with Jason Burggraaf, the Executive Director of the Greater Ottawa Home Builders’ Association. Plus, the Canadian dollar has reached its lowest level since the peak of COVID-19, and just in time for Black Friday.
