The owners of Loblaws and Sobeys are under investigation by Canada’s Competition Bureau. These in-depth investigations were launched in early-March, as requests to look into anti-competitive conduct began to pile up. Specifically, these findings point to the possibility that these grocery giants were using property controls to limit competition. Not surprisingly, Sobeys has since pushed back against these allegations.
