The federal government is launching a national design-and-build competition to ‘rehabilitate and modernize’ 24 Sussex Drive. The plan is announced nearly 11 years after the last Prime Minister lived at the Official Residence – Stephen Harper in 2015. And during Friday’s news conference in Ottawa, Prime Minister Mark Carney said the Heritage Building is now in a critical state following decades of neglect.
