The Snowbirds are just a few months away from their final Canadian performance – slated to be held in Gatineau from September 18th to 20th. But today, right here in Canada’s Capital, they will be embracing their last Canada Day flight for a while, as the feds plan to ground the outdated aircrafts until at least 2030. Darryl Shyiak, a retired RCAF Lieutenant-General and RCAF Pilot, is the Board Chair of the Snowbirds Alumni Association. He joins Andrew Pinsent in Hour 1. We also check in with Beacon Hill-Cyrville councillor Tim Tierney, as a bunch of Canada Day events will be unfolding all across Canada’s Capital. Then, we turn back the clock and reflect on a handful of Canada’s best cinematic masterpieces with CFRA show producer Mitch Kedrosky. And as NHL Free Agency kicks off, technical producer Stephen Ellsworth has a bold prediction for a future Free Agent. That is, if he tests the waters in 2028.
