Ottawa has chosen its Mayor for the next 4 years, and it’s the same man who has led the previous 4 years. We have 3 new faces at City Hall – with one of them unseating the longest-serving city councillor. However, once again, one of the biggest post-election talking points is voter turnout. In Toronto, 45.8 percent of eligible voters casted their ballots on Monday, which is a record-high. Here in Ottawa, that number was just over 36 percent, which is a record-low for our city. Over in Cornwall, they have a new mayoral voice at the helm. In a major upset, rookie councillor Sarah Good captured roughly 65 percent of the vote, defeating incumbent Justin Towndale. The landslide victory makes Good the second woman in Cornwall’s history to hold the city's top job. She joins the program less than 24 hours after a stunning Election Night result. But first, we bring you up to speed on today’s top headlines.
