Canada has decided who will lead their next government, and it’s the Liberals for a fourth straight time. 67 percent of eligible voters made their voices heard between advanced polling and Monday’s last call – that’s more than 19.2 million people. The voter percentage wasn’t even close to what we saw in March of 1958, but it did surpass the 2021 voter turnout by almost 5 percent. And with ballots still being counted today, those stats could soon increase. Meantime, NDP leader Jagmeet Singh and Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre have lost their respective seats in the House of Commons. For the time being, their political pathways are taking different directions, as Singh steps down and Poilievre stays on.
