View descriptionShare

According to a new CAA survey, a majority of parents in Ontario are witnessing unsafe driving behaviours in their child’s school zone. 63 percent of surveyed parents have classified their school zones as ‘very unsafe’, which is a 12 percent jump from 2023. Nearly half of the parents in this survey are in favour of reducing school zone speed limits, voicing consideration for 30 km/h as the appropriate cap. At the moment, Ontario school zone speed limits vary between 30 km/h and 40 km/h. Another factor that douses gasoline to this ever-growing fire: An increase in traffic gridlock. Kristy Cameron digs through the data with Lauren Fisher, a Manager of Government Relations with CAA Southern and Central Ontario. Here at home, a brand-new grocery store has opened in Downtown Ottawa, and it’s creating plenty of buzz. Joining us to break down all the hype is CTV’s Katie Griffin. But first, we bring you up to speed on today’s top headlines.
