Ottawa Now with Kristy Cameron
Daily full show audio from Ottawa Now with Kristy Cameron on 580 CFRAA new Leger poll says long wait times lead half of Canadians to avoid seeing a doctor or going to the hospital. The percentage of respondents who say they avoid consulting doctors because of wait times is highest among women, people aged 55-and-over, and Quebecers. However, the survey numbers don’t indicate whether the people who avoided seeing a doctor had seen a nurse, or turned to other services like pharmacists. Kristy Cameron gets the bigger picture from Renaud Brossard, the Vice-President of Communications at the Montreal Economic Institute. They commissioned the Leger poll. Later in the show, we chat with Dr. Alan Drummond, who is an Emergency Physician at the Perth Hospital. Plus, we check in with CFRA’s Andrew Pinsent, who recently caught up with former Ottawa city councillor Mathieu Fleury. He has returned to city politics as a Trustee. Is a future run for Mayor of Ottawa in the cards?
