The City of Ottawa is mulling over the potential purchase of a private landfill in the East End. According to city staff members, it’s a rare opportunity to help address Ottawa’s future garbage disposal dilemma. And earlier today, the Finance and Corporate Services Committee held a vote, with 8 of 11 voters voting in favour. However, the project’s biggest critics are raising a big stink about Friday’s outcome. Lucie Régimbald is the Vice-President of the Capital Region Citizens Coalition for Environment Protection.
