U.S. President Donald Trump went on another Truth Social tirade against Canada last night, threatening to block the opening of the brand-new Gordie Howe Bridge. Connecting Windsor to Detroit, the third such link between the neighbouring cities, it was first approved by Trump himself during his first tenure as U.S. President, and it was labeled as one of his ‘priority projects’. That was back in 2017. Earlier today, Prime Minister Carney had a phone call with America's President, and feels confident that a mutual understanding will be reached ahead of the bridge's grand-opening event this Spring. According to the latest data, the transit service missed 6 percent of its bus trips during the month's final 7 days, which is significantly higher than its 0.5 percent targets. To nobody’s surprise, people are fed up, including our next guest. Atisa Khalaj, who is studying Journalism and Political Science at Carleton University, has spent many hours waiting in the frigid cold, only for her bus to no-show. One day, she reached her breaking point, and vented her frustrations on Instagram. Since then, it's gone viral on the Meta-based platform. She joins Kristy Cameron on today's Ottawa Now.
