On Thursday, Prime Minister Trudeau published a tweet that started quite the firestorm. He says that his government has cut the cost of cellphone plans in half since 2019, partially done through an increase in competition. This would give Canadians more power over telecommunication providers, allowing them to cancel their phone plans or switch to cheaper packages with no added charges. David Soberman, a Professor of Marketing at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management, encourages Canadians to take these comments with a grain of salt.
