Patricia Boal is joined by Alison Flynn, who last weekend took a camping trip with her son to a remote part of Algonquin Park. An unexpectedly severe storm brought down a tree on their tent, causing serious injuries.
Flynn reflects on that initial incident, the first-aid training kicking in, and the rescue that got her son to the hospital and recovering well in good spirits. She says that initial moment of panic is the worst feeling a parent can have.
