The Ford government is set to make the records of Ontario Cabinet members secret, as it ‘modernizes’ freedom-of-information laws. These changes would also keep the Ontario Premier’s records sealed shut from public circles. This decision, according to critics, would dramatically curtail public scrutiny of the political process. Ian Stedman is an Associate Professor of Canadian Public Law and Governance at York University. Once upon a time, he was also employed to work alongside Ontario’s Integrity Commissioner. Stedman joins Andrew Pinsent on CFRA Weekends.
