In 2016, the Ottawa Redblacks ended a 40-year CFL championship drought for Canada's Capital, a wasteland that spanned 3 different franchises and 27 seasons of football. Nine years later, the 112th Grey Cup is awarded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders, marking a second straight occasion in which a former Redblacks signal-caller took home Grey Cup MVP. Since losing the Grey Cup to Calgary in 2018, Ottawa has struggled to make it back, but they are hoping that a recent champion on the sidelines holds the keys to victory.
