The 43rd CHEO Telethon has raised over $600,000 in support of Ottawa’s children’s hospital. It comes on the heels of a two-week campaign to raise money and awareness for CHEO. Your donations will fuel the life-changing care, state-of-the-art medical equipment, and advanced treatments that the hospital’s patients and families rely on. And we are seeing another example of those fundraising efforts paying off. Last year, CHEO broke ground on a new integrated treatment centre that will provide care to children and youth living with complex medical, developmental, and behavioural needs. Upon completion, the new six-storey facility on Smyth Road will serve approximately 13,700 children and youth with special needs – with their families by their side. Ahead of Saturday’s Telethon, Andrew Pinsent caught up with CHEO Foundation President and CEO Steve Read.
