With food insecurity more prevalent than ever before, the City of Ottawa says it plans to explore new ideas to better address the crisis. During this week’s meeting of the minds, City Council voted to ponder a potential municipal food strategy, similar to the ones we have seen in big cities like Toronto and Montreal. And while multiple levers could be available, city-owned grocery stores are likely not one of them. CFRA’s Andrew Pinsent chats with Natalie Spooner, the Interim CEO of the Ottawa Food Bank.
