Aoife Swandel is a Grade 12 student at Canterbury High School. However, her latest work in fashion is gaining her plenty of attention all around campus, the neighbourhood block she lives on, and all across Canada. This week, she was headed to Carnegie Hall in New York City to receive a prestigious award – besting tens of thousands of hopefuls from across Canada and the United States. Swandel is the maker of the ‘Equinox Dress’, which boasts hidden pleats beneath its top layer that are only exposed when the wearer pulls it to the sky. CFRA’s Andrew Pinsent caught up with Aoife, and her mother Tammie, as the pair made their way back home from New York.

After months of anticipation, Ottawa-based Experience Social has moved its pinball arcade operations to a bigger venue. In fact, no pinball venue in Canada is bigger. They now reside at 250 Greenbank Road near Hunt Club – the former site of The Brass Monkey. And while the former location on Baseline Road served its purpose, the demand was just too big for owner Mike Loftus to keep up. He joins Andrew Pinsent to talk about the new location, the contagious buzz surrounding the blossoming arcade, and what’s next.
