As the price tag approaches $352 million, the contractor tasked with building the Adisoke Library is in hot water with the City of Ottawa. And as we found out earlier this week, the municipality isn’t taking legal action off the table. The project is at least a year behind schedule, nearly double its original budget, and City Hall is not optimistic that a 2026 grand-opening is in the cards. The new library on LeBreton Flats, at the time of recording, is 85 percent complete. How often are projects of this magnitude delayed, and why?
