An MOU has been reached between the Alberta government and the Carney Liberals on a brand-new pipeline that stretches into British Columbia. However, that doesn’t mean a case of pipeline politics has entirely dissipated. B.C. Premier David Eby isn't on the same fence as Alberta, but could warm up to the idea someday if certain conditions are met. Meantime, former Canadian Energy Minister Steven Guilbeault has resigned from Carney’s Cabinet, but insists he will stay on as an MP. Early rumblings suggest that Guilbeault’s departure from his current Cabinet appointment was linked to this Canada-Alberta MOU. Political analyst Lori Turnbull is a Professor of Political Science at Dalhousie University. She joins Andrew Pinsent on CFRA Weekends.
