The Gloucester native's love for hockey began with the NHL's Washington Capitals, who drafted him in the late-1980s and helped him make the switch to broadcasting after his journey as a pro goaltender ended. During his 10+ years at TSN 1200, he was candid about his struggles with mental health, a topic of conversation that hits close to home for Ava James Sidoli. The Ottawa teen has created a fundraiser in Simpson's honour, and a viral website called 'Only Takes One'. Sidoli joins Andrew Pinsent on CFRA Live.
