It was a tough week for the folks at 87 George Street, as we received word about the tragic passing of former radio host Shawn Simpson. The Gloucester native's love for hockey began with the NHL's Washington Capitals, who drafted him in the late-1980s and helped him make the switch to broadcasting after his journey as a pro goaltender ended. During his 10+ years at TSN 1200, he was candid about his struggles with mental health, a topic of conversation that hits close to home for Ava James Sidoli. The Ottawa teen has created a fundraiser in Simpson's honour, and a viral website called 'Only Takes One'. Sidoli joins Andrew Pinsent on CFRA Live.
