A government crackdown on protests has placed Sri Lanka on the brink of collapse, with a combination of human rights concerns and a looming economic crisis adding fuel to the ongoing blaze. In his first speech since Election Night, the country’s Prime Minister also says an agreement with the International Monetary Fund has been pushed back until September, a proposal that would potentially help calm the tense economic waters.
