Misbehaving city councillors in Ontario could be kicked out of office, and receive a permanent disqualification in future elections, under new legislation that was put forward by the Ford government last week. However, under the new criteria, a removal and disqualification could only happen if the Municipal Integrity Commissioner recommends it. After that, it would need approval from Ontario's Integrity Commissioner. And finally, a unanimous vote at City Hall would be the last straw. Emily McIntosh, a supporter with the Women of Ontario Say No Coalition, says a unanimous vote should not be necessary to approve the elimination of inappropriate actions. She joins Andrew Pinsent on CFRA Live.
