In a recent Ottawa Citizen op-ed, former city councillor Alex Cullen called on today’s City Council to urgently tackle Ottawa’s aging facilities before the clock strikes Midnight. This includes everything from hockey rinks and pools, to a wide range of other public assets. And while he doesn’t suggest that the municipality isn’t spending any money on upkeep, he makes it clear that the present-day upkeep is falling short of where it needs to be.
