It’s a sports bidding war that is quickly rising in popularity. It started with Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds backing the Remington Group’s bid to purchase the Ottawa Senators. Earlier this week, American rapper Snoop Dogg supported Neko Sparks’ endeavours to purchase the NHL franchise. And now, reports say a Canadian Top 40 artist plans to support a bid by Toronto billionaires Jeffrey and Michael Kimel. That not-so-secret all-star artist is The Weeknd. And no matter who wins, the Senators are getting free publicity that they can’t put a price on. Andrew Pinsent chats with sports economist Moshe Lander on CFRA Live.
