Lula and Nadia speak to a young South African who is already heading to the World Cup… and he’s only ten years old.

His name is Luca Human-Mare, and he’s been selected as an official match ball carrier for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after winning the Kia Kick Off Kid competition.

Which means he’ll literally walk the match ball onto the field before kickoff at a World Cup game in Atlanta when Bafana Bafana take the pitch.

He’s only been playing football for about three years, but he already dreams of becoming a professional player one day, inspired by legends like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
