Karoo Looms Weavery is a specialist weaving studio on the outskirts of Prince Albert, producing high-end handwoven rugs and tapestries using South African wool and mohair. The studio works with a team of skilled local women artisans who spin, dye and weave the materials by hand, preserving specialised craft techniques while creating contemporary pieces for homes, offices and design projects. Sophia Booley, who joined the business in 2010 without previous weaving experience, played a key role in growing its market and connecting the traditional craft with an international audience.
