New research from the Australia Institute reveals that Japan collects more tax on imported Australian gas than the Australian government makes from exporting it.
Ahead of a Senate inquiry, experts and politicians are pushing for a flat 25% export tax to stop multinational companies from using accounting loopholes and to raise an estimated $17 billion annually for the budget.
