Tomorrow marks the start of the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival with the Doomben 10,000.

CEO of the Brisbane Racing Club, Karl De Kroo, told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports, "What a great form race it's been. Not only a highlight of our Stradbroke season, but obviously also a great form guide for the best sprinters in the country."

"We've seen the last two Everest winners come via the Doomben 10,000."

"I think there's really that, opening now for the next sprint star to really stamp themselves. And you know, I think there's a real opportunity in this race tomorrow for someone to really announce themselves and say, yep, I'm here to fill the void," Mr De Kroo continued.
