Maroons legend Darius Boyd has been announced as the head coach of the Queensland Under 19 team for 2025.
Boyd is more than fit for the role, having played 28 games for the Maroons, served as the assistant coach for the Under 19 team in 2024, and worked as the Brisbane Broncos’ backs coach in 2024.
Darius Boyd told Peter Psaltis on Wide World of Sports, "I think at the moment this program will be great for me to sink my teeth into the head coaching role, while still having that time with family."
"Rugby league and the mentors that I had around me really helped, I suppose, guide me and support me and, turn me into the man I am today."
"The game really helped me and, hopefully, I can do that for the next generation," Boyd continued.
