Brisbane is the worst state capital city in Australia when it comes to unleaded petrol, with the average now at $1.95 per litre.
This has led the NRMA to call for an inquiry into petrol prices on the east coast, with new Transport Minister Brent Mickelberg backing the call.
NRMA Spokesperson Peter Khoury told Shane Doherty on 4BC Summer Drive, "Overwhelmingly, the issue continues to be the price cycles and Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney in particular have had their price cycles getting longer."
"The longer the cycles, the more exposed to the higher prices motorists become and unfortunately it's led to another year of unnecessary pain at the bowser," Mr Khoury said.
